Physical Technical Faculty is a structural subdivision of Karaganda State University named after E. A. Buketov.

The faculty trains highly qualified scientific pedagogical and engineering specialists with high adaptability in the sphere of professional activity that can successfully work in different sectors and spheres of education, industry and business. The academic teaching staff of the faculty carries out applied and basic researches in various branches of physics.

The standard for our faculty are recognized models of leading Russian and foreign university schools implementing multilevel portfolio of educational programs and actively developing research.

Currently, the Faculty carries out preparation of 11 specialties and in the current academic year the contingent of students is only 1062 people, including students – 1002 people, undergraduates – 54 people, doctoral students – 6 people. Successfully implemented a multi-stage model of training specialists: Master’s and PhD courses are functioning there.

In recent years there has been a steady upward trend in the number of students of the faculty, that is definitely due to the increasing role of natural and engineering sciences in the modern world and the related fact that interest of young people in technical and natural science grows.

The mission of the Physical Technical Faculty is to train highly qualified scientific and pedagogical staff, specialists in the field of natural science, engineering and technology and in the field of services, capable to realize their professional knowledge in education, science and production.

At present, the faculty consists of 4 departments: Physics and nanotechnologies, Engineering Thermophysics named after Professor Zh.S. Akylbaev, Transport and vocational training, Radiophysics and Electronics.

The material and technical facilities satisfy all the modern demands. Classrooms are equipped by all the things needed for the qualitative organization of educational process. Students of the faculty have at their disposal multimedia classes, a tutorial class, computer classes, reading rooms, libraries.

Graduates of the faculty have possibility to continue their education under postgraduate programs at master courses in specialties: 6M011000 – Physics (education), 6M060400 – Physics (science), 6M012000- Vocational training, 6M072300 – Technical physics, 6M071700 – Heat power engineering.

Since 2008 the faculty has been training academic and teaching staff under PhD program on specialty 6D060400 – Physics (science).

The teaching staff of the faculty maintains wide international collaboration with colleagues from the CIS and other foreign countries. In terms of this collaboration some agreements about mutual cooperation have been signed.

Faculty History

Faculty of physics was formed on the basis of the Department of Physics, having functioned at the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of Karaganda pedagogical institute since 1963. Future teachers of physics and general technical disciplines were trained there. Till 1966 the dean of the faculty was T.K. Keltenev. Then the faculty was headed by: associate professor V.N. Nam, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences (since 1966 till 1969); associate professor K.M.Aryngazin, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences and now professor, doctor of pedagogical sciences (since 1969 till 1972). At the Faculty of physics there were two departments: the Chair of physics (headed by associate professor V.P. Usik ) and the Chair of technical disciplines (headed by Rah G.I.,  then associate professor B.M. Vaholsky, candidate of pedagogical sciences) with six laboratories and two general special practical laboratories: the Laboratory of molecular spectroscopy, headed by Z.M. Muldahmetov, now professor, academician of  NAS of RK, and the Laboratory of optical phenomena in crystals, it was headed by the associate professor B.K. Kusainova, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences,  and then by K. M. Aryngazin.

At the Chair of physics Zh.S. Akylbaev, B. Aleshin, K.M. Aryngazin, A.G. Vinogradov, K.T. Ermaganbetov, I.P. Zhilenkov, G.K. Karataeva, G.A. Ketsle, B.K. Kusainova, B.S. Kakenov, V.G. Ivanchinova, M. Madeev, B.N. Nihanbaeva and others worked; at the Chair of technical disciplines A.F. Lepeshkin, V.E. Klochko, A.A. Tim, O.V. Prusakov and others worked.

In accordance with a special programme for the preparation of scientific and pedagogical staff of high qualification, developed by the administrative authority and on the initiative of the rector of pedagogical institute, associate professor Baimurzin S.B., the best graduates and young lecturers of the Chair of Physics were sent to post-graduate courses of leading universities in the country: in 1965 Zh.S. Akylbaev, K.M. Aryngazin (Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov, Almaty), in 1967 K.T. Ermaganbetov (IPhP SB of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk), G.A. Ketsle, B. Aleshin, M. Madeev (Moscow State University named after M. Lomonosov, Moscow). The talented graduates, excellent students joined the ranks of teachers and employees of the Chair: in 1965 K.Z. Alzhanov, S.D. Daribekov, V.Yu. Yeskova, M. Abishev, Yu.A. Soynikov, in 1970 Yu.N. Antipov, V.E. Gladkov, S.S. Kontaev, V.V.Bryukhanov.

In 1972 on the basis of the pedagogical institute, Karaganda State University was founded, at that time it was of the second university in the republic. At the Faculty of physics there were five departments, the heads of which young candidates of sciences were appointed: the Chair of general physics (headed by L.F. Ilyina), the Chair of theoretical physics (headed by Zh.S. Akylbaev), the Chair of optical methods of investigation and analysis (headed by A. I. Perevertun), the Chair of radio electronics (headed by L.A. Krauss), the Chair of solid state physics (headed by T.A. Kuketaev).

On the proposal of the first rector of the new university Ye.A. Buketov, Aryngazin K.M. became the first dean of the Faculty of physics of the University (since 1972 till 1974.). During his work in KarSU named after E.A. Buketov, Aryngazin K.M. headed the Chair of theoretical physics, the Chair of general and theoretical physics, more than 10 years he was the dean of the Faculty of Advanced Training at KarSU, for 7 years he served as a vice-rector for science at the Institute of Advanced Training affiliated with KarSU.

In subsequent years, the faculty was headed by Zh.S. Akylbaev, A.I. Perevertun, B.K. Kusainova, L.F. Ilyina, T.A. Kuketaev, A.Zh. Turmuhambetov, K.S. Baktybekov, N.H. Ibraev, A.O. Saulebekov.

At the beginning of 1980, a new department was opened at the faculty, it was the Chair of thermal physics. Then the faculty consisted of six departments.

Throughout its existence the Faculty of physics has passed a long and difficult path of its formation and development. Most of the gains were in the professional development of its employees. Thus, in 1972, the staff of the two physical departments included two candidates of sciences – K.M. Aryngazin and B.M. Vaholsky and one associate professor V.P. Usik, and now in the Faculty staff there are 7 doctors of sciences, professors and 22 candidates of sciences, associate professors.

The pride of the faculty, model for young teachers and faculty staff and students are our honored workers, veterans of labour:

– the holder of breasplates “Excellence in Education of the Kazakh SSR”, “Ibrai Altynsarin” and “Honored Worker of Karaganda State University” professor Aryngazin K.M., doctor of pedagogical sciences;

– laureates of the State scientific grant for scientists and experts who have made outstanding contribution to development of science and engineering: professor Kuketaev T.A., doctor of physical and mathematical sciences,  and professor Ibraev N.H., doctor of physical and mathematical sciences; professor Kim L.M.;

The high professionalism of the teaching staff of the Faculty was evidenced by the fact that six of our teachers in different years were awarded state grant “The best teacher of higher school”: Sakipova S.E. – 2006; Ibraev N.KH.- 2007, 2011; Koketay T.A. – 2008; Tazhigulova G.O., Aikeyeva A.A., Nusupbekov B.R. – 2010; Abilkasimova G.K. – 2014; Zatyneyko A.M. – 2015; Ermaganbetov K.T., Khasenov A.K. – 2016

The faculty traditions are honourably followed by young teachers and faculty members, among which we would like to mention the winner of State scholarships for talented young scientists, associate professor Karstina S.G., doctor of physical and mathematical sciences; Afanasyev D.A., PhD; holders of RFBR grant “Scientific work of young scientists from the CIS countries in Russian scientific organizations” to conduct fundamental research: Ospanova D.A., master of physics; associate professor Aitpaeva Z.K., candidate of chemical sciences; Hasenov A.K., master of engineering and technology (2009-2010 academic year); Bulkairova G.A., master of physics (2010-2011 academic year); laureate of the State scholarship for talented young scientists and a nominee for the prize of Akim of Karaganda region for young scientists nominated in the category “Science” Aymuhanov A.K., candidate of physical and mathematical sciences; holder of the grant to conduct fundamental research Afanasyev D.A., PhD student ; nominee for the prize of Akim of Karaganda region for young scientists in the category “Science”, the winner of the Republican contest for the best scientific work of students in natural, technical sciences and humanities Seliverstova E.V., PhD student; the holder of the grant of Karaganda State University named after E.A. The feature of the faculty is that its staff is actively involved in establishing strong relationships with foreign partner universities. In particular, its departments have close ties with well known scientific and educational centers such as the University of Tartu (Estonia), Humboldt University (Berlin, Germany) , Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (Prague, Czech Republic), Ryazan State Radio Engineering University (Russia), Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, Kazakh State Pedagogical University named after Abay, Eurasian Institute for Humanities, Institute KAE named after Altynsarin, Institute of Thermal Physics SB RAS, Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics SB RAS, Institute of Inorganic Chemistry SB RAS , Institute of Applied Mechanics of National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Tomsk State University, Institute of Physics and Strength of Materials Science SB RAS, Kemerovo State University, Physics and Engineering Institute of MES RK, Almaty, St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University, Institute of Engineering Thermophysics (Ukraine).

The active enlargement of the list of specialties and areas of training in higher and postgraduate education is also one of our priorities. In particular, Karaganda State University guarantees mandatory (up to three months) overseas training for all students under master’s programme.

Currently, the Physical technical faculty consists of four departments:

– Physics and nanotechnologies (headed by associate professor Kudusov A.S., candidate of physical and mathematical sciences);

– Engineering thermophysics named after Professor Zh.S. Akylbaev (headed by professor K. Kusaiynov, doctor of engineering sciences);

– Transport and vocational training (headed by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor I.S. Utebaev);

– Radiophysics and electronics (headed by Doctor PhD, Associate Professor А.К. Zeynidinov).

The Department of Physics and nanotechnologies is one of the oldest departments of the faculty and the university, which was established in 1972 during the formation of the Karaganda State University. A young candidate of sciences, Lydia Fyodorovna Ilyina headed the department. She was invited from Alma-Ata by the first rector of the University, Yevney Arstanovich Buketov. Most of the teachers of the department, very young in those years, were the best graduates of the pedagogical institute, on the basis of which our university was founded. In different years, the department was headed by L.F. Ilyina, Yu.A. Soynikov, S.S.Kontaev, T.Zh. Kunakbaev, Yu.N. Antipov, M.K. Kurmanov, T.M. Mukatov, A.ZH. Turmuhambetov, N.Zh. Dzhaychibekov, K.M. Aryngazin, A.O. Saulebekov, S.E.Sakipova.

At the present stage, most of the educational and methodical work is carried out by the teachers of the department. First cases, EMC, transition to the credit system of training, methodological seminars at the university on didactic principles and the latest educational technologies for physics teachers from schools of the city and region, work with branches in schools, etc.

The department conducted several open Olympiads in physics for pupils of 10th  and 11th forms.

The department has six laboratories: those of mechanics, molecular physics, electricity and magnetism, methods of teaching of physics, school experimental technique, and practical physics for nonphysical specialties.

The laboratory equipment of the department is widely used not only in the educational process at the faculty during both general and specialized courses (the chair became administering sub-department), when performing graduation and course work, and for conducting classes for pupils of specialized classes of schools, which opened branches of the department (the school for gifted children “Daryn”, Karaganda school-gymnasium number 38), in conducting accounting lessons of students during pedagogical practice.

The Department of radiophysics and electronics was organized on the base of the Chair of radioelectronics of Karaganda pedagogical institute. The first head of the department was associate professor B.M. Vaholsky, candidate of pedagogic sciences. Then the department was successively headed by L.A. Krauss, candidate of engineering sciences, professor K.T. Ermaganbetov, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, professor D.M. Mukanov, candidate of engineering sciences, associate professor T.M. Mukatov, candidate of chemical sciences, professor L.V. Chirkova, candidate of engineering sciences.

Having at an early stage in its structure just three laboratories over the past years, the department has developed significantly. Currently, its students work in 14 specialized laboratories, including the field of telecommunications, equipped with modern facilities of D-Link companies. This development was achieved thanks to close ties established by the department with the leading enterprises of the central Kazakhstan region and scientific centres of the country.

One of the main activity areas of the department has always been to establish close ties with industry. Close long-term cooperation with OJSC “Kazchermetavtomatika” resulted in the organization of a branch of the Department in the organization. The initiator of this was professor K.T. Ermaganbetov. The leading members of the OJSC are directly involved in the educational process, they guide course and graduation works of students. This organization , as well as JSC “Republican radiotelecorporation Kazakhstan”, the transmitting center of Karaganda branch of JSC “Kazteleradio” are permanent practice base for students. Many graduates of the department are invited to work at the OJSC.

The Department has entered into agreements on technical cooperation with the Karaganda regional directorate of Radiotelebroadcasting JSC “Kazteleradio”, CC “Ecoexpert”, LLP “Aqua-Rem”, LLP “Kazstroyproekt 2010”, whose employees also participate directly in the educational process.

The department was of one of the first to introduce computers into the educational process. Laboratories of digital and microprocessor technology have been established. Professor K.T. Ermaganbetov was the first in the Republic to prepare  a study guide “Digital electronics” and the textbook “Electricity and magnetism” with professor Zh.S. Akylbaev in Kazakh.

The Department has paid much attention to the work with schoolchildren, promoting technical knowledge. The members of the department conducted four open city and regional Olympiads of schoolchildren on electronics, which then acquired the status of republican, they conducted two Republican Olympiads and organized and conducted a competition of student works in electronics.

The policy of the department in regard to the formation of bases for practice is based on creating conditions for students to obtain practical skills on the whole range of special subjects studied.

The logical continuation of the practice for many students is the fulfillment of course and graduation works under the guidance of leading experts from mentioned organizations. After receiving diplomas a number of graduates are invited to work in the specialty.

The Department of Transport and Vocational Training was established in 2013 after the unification of the departments of Machine Science and Fine Arts and the methodology of vocational training. The origins of this department originate from the opening on July 9, 1993 on the basis of the Faculty of Arts and Arts of the Department of Machine Science. The first set of students in specialty 300440 – “Organization of road traffic” was produced in 1997, and the graduates with qualification “road engineer” were made in 2002.

In different years the department was headed by Ph.D., Associate Professor S.Sh. Magavin; Ph.D., Professor Ovcharov MS; Ph.D., Associate Professor Nartya VI; Ph.D., associate professor Karimov K.G .; Doctor of technical sciences, professor Kuanyshbaev Zh.M .; Ph.D., Associate Professor Isaeva K.R .; Doctor of technical sciences, professor G.Tazhigulova.

Currently, 19 teachers are training bachelors and undergraduates, including 9 professors, 9 candidates of science, 6 masters, 9 senior lecturers and 1 doctoral student.

The Department of Engineering thermophysics named after Professor Zh.S. Akylbaev was organized and established in 1980 under the guidance of the professor, academician of the IHEAS Zh.S.Akylbaev, doctor of technical sciences. At that time he was the dean of the faculty and later became the rector of the university.

The establishment of the department was caused by our needs due to rather cold climatic conditions of the region. We need specialists in thermal physics to solve problems both fundamental thermophysical science and applied tasks: finding new alternative energy sources, saving energy resources, optimization of existing technologies for heat power enterprises, etc.

Associate professor A.Zh. Turmuhambetov whose working career is inseparably linked with both the Physics faculty and Chair of Thermophysics, was appointed the first head of department (later he became the dean of the faculty, professor, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences). In different years the department was headed by professors: Zh.S. Akylbaev, N.Zh. Dzhaychibekov, K. Kusaiynov, Yu.N. Antipov, M.K. Kurmanov, associate professor Yu.N. Shcherbakov. In June 2008 the department was renamed into the Chair of Engineering Thermophysics named after professor Zh.S. Akylbaev.

Currently, the teaching staff of the department is represented by professor K.K. Kusaiynov, associate professors: T.A. Zhakataev, S.E. Sakipova, B.R. Nusupbekov, G.M. Shaimerdenova, Z.K. Aitbaeva; senior lecturers: A.Zh. Satybaldin, G.A. Zhuandykova, G.A. Bulkairova, D.A. Ospanova; lecturers: A.N. Dyusembaeva, B.B. Kutum, Zh.G. Nurgalieva and engineers: A.S. Meyrmanova, A.B. Baspakov.

The high professionalism of the teaching staff of the faculty is evidenced by the fact that two of our lecturers in different years were awarded state grant “The best lecturer of higher educational establishment”: professor Kusaiynov K., doctor of technical sciences (2007 and 2011) and associate professor B.R. Nusupbekov, candidate of technical sciences (2010).

The Chair is an administering sub-department, it performs fundamental training of young professionals according to the bachelor, master and doctoral programs.

Training of engineers-thermophysicists oriented to work at heat power engineering enterprises has been carried out since 1992. The educational work of the chair is provided by 8training laboratories that use unique facilities of the department: a wind tunnel with 500mm diameter of a working part  and airflow rate ~ 30m/s, an electrohydraulic setup “Iskra-N”, aerodynamic setups for study of flows in streams, pipes and channels.

The department jointly carries out researchies with: “Nonlinear Physics Laboratory” of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi (head – professor Z. Zh. Zhanabaev, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences), Almaty; Chemical and Metallurgical Institute named after Zh. Abishev (Director – professor M.Zh. Tolymbekov, doctor of technical sciences), Karaganda.

Members of the Chair of Engineering Thermophysics named after professor Zh.S. Akylbaev cooperate with the following international organizations:

– Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of NASU (Kiev);

– Scientific Research Institute of Thermophysics SB RAS, Novosibirsk (Russia);

– Institute of High Current Electronics SB RAS, Tomsk (Russia);

– Tomsk State University, Tomsk (Russia).

The department regularly organizes international scientific conference “Chaos and structures in nonlinear systems. Theory and experiment “and at the department and faculty many conferences with the participation of leading scientists of research institutes and universities from Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Yekaterinburg and other cities were held. This conference, held every two years, makes a significant contribution to the development of the science of nonlinear phenomena.

Undergraduates and graduate students of the department take an active part in scientific researches; their works have been repeatedly awarded with diplomas of international and national conferences and contests of student works.

Specialists in thermophysics are in demand practically in all branches of economy and science: for fuel and energy complex, metallurgical and engineering industries, construction, light industry, housing and utilities sector.

All young members of the department are involved in research, they have publications in national and international scientific journals.

In conclusion, we should note not only highly qualified teaching staff of physical faculty, but also the level of preparation of bachelors, masters and doctors of PhD of relevant specialties that claim to various scholarships and scientific grants.

Physical Technical Faculty has always been and still remains the indispensable “forge” of highly qualified scientific staff who, as today it finally became apparent, are the true wealth of the country and they are able to bring prosperity and guarantee a honorable place to it among the world powers with a high level of scientific and technological development.

The specialties of KSU named after academician E.A. Buketov such as 5B011000 – Physics (educational) and 5B060400 – Physics (natural sciences) of the bachelor level and 6M011000 – Physics (educational) and 6M060400 – Physics (natural-science) of the master level had got the quality mark of the German institute of accreditation, certification and ensuring quality “ACQUIN”.

It means that the graduates can work in all countries of the European educational space without any additional confirmation of the diplomas.

Due to the decision of Presidium of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences for encouragement of scientists for scientific works, discoveries and the inventions having importance for science and practice was founded an award of A. Nobel name (certificate and breastplate).


The medal is awarded by the Presidium of RANS on the basis of results of the competitions announced by Presidium RANS for outstanding scientific works, discoveries and inventions or set of works having a great scientific and practical value.

On the basis of the solution of the Academic Council of KSU named after academician E.A. Buketov 29.08.2012 (protocol No. 12) the Physical faculty will be renamed as Physical and Technical faculty since August 21, 2012.

Order

At the faculty 19 scientific state budgetary projects, including 6 projects of the fundamental directions and 13 projects of applied directions, also series of initiative projects in different directions of science were realized in 2013.

The fundamental investigations:

  1. Development the photoconverter of solar energy based on amorphous semiconductors and organic dyes.
  2. Spin-selective photoprocesses in molecular systems with limited geometry.
  3. Development of methods for the experimental determination of the surface tension of solids and recommendations for their practical use.
  4. Functional optical elements based on porous aluminum oxide.
  5. Role and influence of structural factor on the accumulation and decay of defects in wideband crystals.
  6. Development of technology for production of metal oxide films with high specific surface for photovoltaic cells of Grettselya.

Applied investigations:

  1. Development and introduction to manufacture of application technology and laser processing of nanocrystalline coatings on details of machine mechanisms of power equipments and of thermal power plants.
  2. Electrohydroimpulse technology of creating heat exchangers for extract heat of the soil in small depths.
  3. Electric pulse technology of extraction of rare metals from metal-containing and
    technogenic
  4. Electrohydroimpulse technology of processing of Shubarkul coal slimes for obtaining of coal-water fuel.
  5. Development and introduction to manufacture of information-measuring systems for weighing of friable materials on conveyors.
  6. Development of technology and creation of experimental industrial area for hardening and rebuilding of the mechanism details and technological aggregates of thermal power stations.
  7. Development and introduction to manufacture of domestic portable information-measuring system for the analysis of harmful gases.
  8. Development of luminophore and device for dosimetry.
  9. Creation of manufacturing area and the introduction of technology magnetron application of heat resistant coatings on details of thermal power plants.
  10. A new approach to plasmon-enhanced photovoltaic cells.
  11. Creation of manufacturing area and introduction of technology of electron-beam deposition on beater of coal-pulverizing mills of thermal power plants.
  12. Wind turbine for small wind speeds with dynamically changeable shape of the surface of the blades.
  13. Justification and development of energy-saving technology of crank of the mined mass by creating electromagnetic elevating installation.

 SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH WORK OF STUDENTS

 This direction of the faculty work is very important for the training of qualified personnel. Students of physical-technical faculty participate in different scientific competitions, Olympiads and projects.

In 2013:

The 3rd year student Kystaubaeva A.Zh. is a winner of the Republican competition of student stipends of Fund of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation.

Students Ospanova Zh., Aganina G. have got 2nd place in the Republican competition of scientific student works in higher schools of Republic of Kazakhstan.

2nd course master student of the Department of Instrumentation and nanotechnology Zavatskaya O. is winner of the competition of innovative projects among  master students, doctoral students and young scientists “Parasatty zhas galym”, held by corporation “Parasat”. She was awarded diploma of 3rd degree.

4th year student Myrzakhanova M.E. for her scientific work was awarded by a diploma of the Ministry of II degree in specialty “Thermal Engineering” (supervisor – docent Z.K.Aitpaeva).

3rd year students Kurmangaliyev A.S., Beisenbek A.Zh., Tolynbekov A. for scientific work were awarded by diplomas of the Ministry of II and III degrees in specialty “Thermal Engineering” (supervisor – docent Nusupbekov BR).

4th year student Ospanova Zh. was awarded by the diploma of 1st degree in the nomination “Originality of the ideas” according to the results of scientific and practical conference for master students and students “Buketov readings-2013″ (27-28 March 2013).

PhD students Zeinidenov A., Serikov T. and 2 course master student Aitkenova G. have won in the IV Republican competition of projects for students and master students by energy saving in lighting, conducted by the “Chevron” company and Almaty university of Energy and Communications and “RESD” Public Fund, November 2013,  Almaty. They were awarded by the diploma of 1st degree by the nomination “Best Project”.

Faculty events during academic year

April 19, 2018 at the Department of Radiophysics and Electronics was held a seminar on radiation safety on the topic “Radiation Accidents”, dedicated to the anniversary of the Chernobyl accident. The report “Major Radiation Accidents” was made by Professor of the Department of Radiophysics and Electronics Chirkova L.V. The aim of the seminar was a broad exchange of views on radiation safety issues. Teachers and students of the Faculty of Physics and Technology took part in the seminar and discussed the main problems of radiation safety. The work of the seminar showed that the issues of radiation safety remain relevant and promising for further discussion and cause a keen interest of the faculty employees and students.














In the academic year 2017-18, three teachers of the faculty entered doctoral studies, including Kutum B.B. (ENU im.L.Gumileva), Omarova GS, Oshanov EZ. (Karagin State University named after EA Buketov).

The journal “Bulletin of the University of Karaganda “Physics “”

Vestnik of the University of Karaganda, the series “Physics” since September 2017 is part of the science-based database of Thomson Reuters, and at present 114 articles of the faculty and third-party authors are included in the main database and have an h-index of 1.

In November 2017 the journal “Bulletin of the University series” Physics “was awarded a diploma” Leader of Science-2017 “.

Professor teaching staff of faculty submitted 12 applications for participation in the competition for grant funding for scientific and scientific and technical projects 2018-2020.

In the academic year 2015-16, 3 students of the faculty were trained within the academic academic mobility during the academic period in the universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Zhanabayev B.B., KazNU named after Al-Farabi) and in foreign universities (Bolatbekova B.Zh. and Bazhikov N. K. Silesian University of Technology, Poland).

In 2016-17 academic year, in the framework of the entrance to academic mobility in accordance with the contract for the practice, the undergraduates of the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University Toktasynov A.Zh. (specialty 14.04.02-Nuclear Physics), Musobekova A.K. and Nurshinova A.Zh. (specialty 16.04.01-Technical Physics) underwent research practice from 30.01.2017 to 12.03.2017 on the basis of the Departments of Radiophysics and Electronics and Physics and Nanotechnology (Order  №11-0 /Mp of  08.11.2016 and №155-0 / mp of 11.01.2017).

Provision of disciplines with methodological materials (published and recommended for publication works):

During the 2016-2017 academic year, 187 educational programs were developed, 76 electronic courses of lectures and multimedia presentations. Issued: 14 teaching aids and 1 teaching aids and recommendations, including in English – 1.

 Advanced training for teaching staff

During the reporting period, out of 73 full-time teachers, 6 people passed the advanced training courses (KarSU, universities of Kazakhstan and foreign countries). Including in accordance with the profile of the taught disciplines 57 people, language courses – 11 faculty teachers.

In 2016-17 academic years, guest lectures were delivered by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Siberian State Automobile and Highway Academy Vitvitsky E.Е.

In the 2015-16 academic years, the 8th Republican Student Olympiad in Physics was held at the Baku State University named after EA Buketov. Our team took 1st place among 14 teams, and in the individual competition the first place was taken by student Kazankap B.I.

Students of the third year of the specialty “5В090100 – Organization of transport, traffic and operation of transport Elshina Manshuk and Torbaeva Aselhan Republican student’s Olympiad in the personal competition took 3rd place.

In 2016-17 academic year, as part of the “Mobility of young scientists of the RFBR” PhD Khasenov AK and M.Tleubergenova A.Zh. have won a grant “Scientific projects performed by young scientists under the guidance of candidates and doctors of sciences in scientific organizations of the Russian Federation in 2016” (Tomsk), and associate professor Zeynidenov AK became a holder of scholarships for young talented scientists (December 2016).

In the academic year 2016-17, 12 scientific topics are being developed, including 4 for fundamental directions and 8 for applied, funded by state grants.

Training of specialists in the direction of doctoral studies at the faculty has been carried out since 2008. During this time, 12 graduates of the doctoral studies successfully completed and received the approval of 10, including 7 working at the Karaganda State University named after E.A. In the period from 2012 to 2016, under the target program, 3 doctoral students from Kokshetau State University named after Sh. Ualikhanov. They all successfully defended the thesis and got approval.

Educational work

 The educational direction of the faculty is connected with the creation of conditions for the development and realization of the personality of the students.


The students of the faculty take an active part:

– in the competition Zhas Talap-2016 (27.09.2016) were awarded with diplomas Zhanbirbaeva Perizat (FOC-100), Satybaldy Aina (OPDiET-13), Zhumagaliyeva Diana (FII-104), Makonov Arman (RTK-112), Bolekbay Rustem (RTC-112);
– Teachers and students of the faculty took an active part in the preparation and organization of the “Dedication to Students” competition of the Faculty of Physics and Technology (October 28, 2016), which were awarded with the diploma “For the high level of organization and holding”.
– in the contest “Miss and Mister KarGU-2017” (February 17, 2017), the faculty was represented by Aymakhanova Zhuldyz (FEK-102) and Makonov Arman (RTK-112)

– the KVN team of the Armanshyldar team took the 2nd place in the Zholdasbek Yerzhan (TEK-210), Baratbaev Ulugbek (TEK-210), Roman Bakyt (TEK-210), Paizov Seyilbek (RTK-
– in the university competition “Best Student Group”, the group TEK-210 (28.02.2017) took part in the academic year and was awarded the title “The brightest group-2017”;
– students studying under the program “Мәңгілік Ел жастары – индустрияға! Serpin-2050 “took part in the festival” Alaman “(03-10.11.2016) and took the team place 1: in the nomination” Shynyқsa Šymyr Bolası “won 1 place in volleyball, 1 and 3 places in Tozyzmalā, 1 place in basketball, 3 place ; Zhanabatyr Elaman (TEK-110) took the 3rd place in the nomination “Өнерлінің өрісі кең”; in the contest “Zhaidarman” the team of the “Serpin zhastary” faculty took 3rd place, and the team “Erekshe gendar” – 2 nd place;
– the KVN team of the “Armanshildar” faculty with the aim of popularizing the Kazakh KVN among the student youth organized the festival “Zhaidarman” on April 3-5, 2017;
– in competitions in national sports among students studying under the program “Mogilik El jastary – industriya”! Serpin-2050 “Serikov N. (TEK-110) took the 3rd place; Aukenov Telman (FOK-100) – 2 place, Қobylat Dulat (TEK-210) – 2 place, Қal’abek Orazbek (PO-11) – 1 place.
– in the military sports games dedicated to the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 25th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the team of the faculty took the general team place.
– In the XI Spartakiada among students for the prize Akim of the region, dedicated to the international exhibition “EXPO-2017” Imanbekova Aizhan (FOK-100) and Zhumagaliyeva Diana (FII-104) in the team of the girls team of KarSU volleyball took 2nd place, and Keltirbai Nurzat in the volleyball team took 1st place.
– University құrama team қatarynda tebynyң student ІХ Spartakiada volleyballan 2-орын иеленді. Wasps of the fag-FPK-106 of the general student’s university of құramasynyң қatarynda volley-balladan 1 орын иеленген
– Students Nuralin S. and Ybyray J. (OPDiET-13) as part of a group of activists of the Karaganda regional branch of the Youth wing “Zhas Otan” visited the children’s home “Tansholpan” with a concert program and with a blogging purpose. In addition, within the framework of the party project “Ardagherlardi Ardatait”, they conducted a survey of social and living conditions for single and especially needy workers in the rear.
