Brief information:

The SAI was opened in 2003 on the basis of the Department of Archeology of Central Kazakhstan KarSU. The structure of the institute includes a museum of archeology and ethnography.

Main research areas:
– The technology of making ceramic tableware as a source on the history of the population of Kazakhstan in the Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age
– The funeral rite and the reconstruction of the social structure of the Andronovo cultural and historical community (end of the 3rd - middle of the 2nd millennium BC)
– Monuments of the Final Bronze Age of Central Kazakhstan (mid-2nd - first half of 1st millennium BC)
– Petroglyphs of the Kazakh Upland
